    Re: Fan Fawr

Great race, the only Winter series race I missed last season. If it helps with reconstructing events, I was

    Dominic Shields - San Domenico - Race Number 10 - Time 21:55 - MV45

    Immediately ahead of me was
Richard Johnson - Islwyn - MS
About 15 seconds behind me was
    Glyn Sansom - San Domenico - MV45

I'm sure this has been suggested before and can think of the obvious objections but would there be any mileage in issuing numbers that the runner keeps and re-uses for the whole series ?

Dominic, I know from seeing the carnage that was the excuse for a results sheet that your information will be EXTREMELY useful!!

Thanks Wheeze, Mark B who wasn't there but I talked to lunchtime said that my numbers scheme was doomed so I countered with Gwent League style finishing sequence numbers you hand the runners as they cross the line, these only need to be small bits of card.

Not sure what the readership of this forum is among people who were there Saturday but it might be an idea for others to respond with their number and time.

Just saw on the Pontypridd Roadents site the times recorded by the three Roadents who took part
Rhodri Evans (MS) 20:29, Daniel Bodman (MS) 21:00, Gwyn Lloyd (MV50) 23:18.

S'good idea. But you still have to make the numbers (I remember using bread-tags for my races) and the whole idea of feral fell running is a bit like flash-mobbing. Turn up at a nasty hill, do it and then disappear with the minimum of fuss or 'organisation'!

Yes one of the things I like is that you can't get much further away from all the things I dislike about "Big City Event" races but I guess that we have to compromise a bit if we want results to reflect what went on. I have reflected many times why results are such an important part of a race and it doesn't make sense really but they just are.

Thanks T_S, that really does help, carnage to fiction to a close approximation to reality in one go. Its the bunch around 21 mins that i was having difficulty with, so your help has been invaluable. Many thanks

Gr8, got you thanks. This feral fell racing is going to really catch on. Just post your time after the race, of course it may or may not have any relation to reality:wink::wink:
