I went around the Kinder Killer yesterday and the conditions were much better than I expected. Quite straight forward to be honest. Just some of the streams area a bit high so had to be careful with some of the assents that required frequent jumping back and forth.

Just had a look on Bing Maps and I reckon 128 890 is correct you would have to climb the fence to go further down the stream.

From Blackden Brook to Kinder East Trig is pretty rought. I found that if you follow the stream until you see a crag on your left hand side (couple of hundred metres up the stream). You can climb though the big crack in the middle of it and then follow the little stream bed all the way up to the edge path.

Thanks for the reply, thought so.

I've got a good line up to the Kinder East Trig which starts heading up that first shoulder. After the first little climb as it flattens out a trod leads you out right and across a brook onto the next shoulder. Then it's direct to the edge path. It avoids any steep heather bashing low down. Horses for courses no doubt.

News just in that dark peak vet 60 Jim Paxman ran round the doz yesterday in 8.26....then after 10 minutes refuelling he went round again in 9.42 to complete the double dozen in 18.18.
A fantastic if slightly mental run.
    Well Jim....i think..🤣

Is he that senile he forgot he'd done it?!
Noce effort, I imagine conditions will be pretty good at the moment, a week more dry weather would make it close to perfect!

Huge congratulations to Lova Chechik of Dark Peak, hes arrived into Edale claiming a new Kinder Dozen record of 5.08! Taking 7 minutes off the record.

A friend of mine completed the KD at the weekend in 6hrs 53min and it has sparked my interest in giving it a go later in the year.

Whilst doing a little research on the route I noticed that OSMaps estimates a running time for it as 3hrs 9min!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

I've done it twice, both in September/October with a pack as OMM prep. I always went from the Snake Inn footbridge.
Best to get it done before the bracken gets too high, or all the water sources dry out.

The record is 4:42ish so OS evidently think there's some wiggle room.
