    Hi Ukhursty

Thanks, my navigation is not great but I'm looking at doing a course in the Lakes later on next month, so that should help, done a number of fell/trail races but nothing the length of TOP.

    Cheers
    Andrew

Does anyone know for what reason the age restriction is 20? I would have thought if it's run under FRA rules the minimum age would have been 18.

Put it this way, you can't get really 'lost' on Pendle, thats not to mean its an easy race, far from it
Depends on your definition of lost? When the cloud is down then it is certainly easy to go some where you didn't want to. I always carry a compass up there if weather at all iffy and I know a couple of key bearings even without a map.

Last year there was a diversion to save erosion on a section of Ogden Clough so that may not be on the Harvey's map plus there may be changes this year as well? so the map will give you a good overall picture of the route but I would check the clayton website for any changes to the route this year.
    No country for old men.

Pete Vale and I both went wrong in the clag last year - I'd like to say he was following me, but I think I was about 2 hours behind him by that point.

    Legendary!
It can be easy to go wrong on this one if the clags down, and when your legs have gone in the second half of the race and you can't keep up with the clayton vest the fun begins.
Not that i'd follow anyone from clayton on this one:wink:
