Yep, see you all on Saturday.

It'll be a challenge - my longest run for a long time too Wycoller; I reckon we should be 3:30 plus a (little??) bit... but then again, let's keep our predicted times confidential...after all, we wouldn't want to explain to our forum pals why we finished an hour after our expectataions...

    ...that last hill mind...

...oh, and the one before that one too...
...there's a hill nearby missing its fool...

I'll be happy to beat last years time... 3.56.
If I can knock ten mins off, I'll be well chuffed.
    Get those carbs down!

well the annual chest infection is looming.

don't normally do this tapering malarky but fear I may collapse and expire if i don't wrap myself in cotton wool all week

Tapering? Well, I think it does work. Ran a marathon a few weeks back, did my last long run a whole 2 weeks before the big day. After that I did several little runs and ended up feeling during that period as if I wasn't running at all - no sweat, nothing! Then blazed round on the day and had lots left in the legs at the end.

Not sure about doing the same on a fell race though, it's a different beast altogether...

TOP is a toughie for sure. Would be happy with sub 4hrs to be honest. Last year was a nightmare - memories of the climbs on the latter half still keep me awake some nights....

Hope to meet some more of you forumites on the day.

I think I prefer the Batman photo you had a long time ago....!

Look out for the hamster! (Actually, it was either a hamster or Borat so I chose the lesser of two evils....)

This is the picture from last year's Tour:

Pity it doesn't give a good idea of the rain/hail/wind etc!

I haven't done any running this week, the chest infection is present but I'm determined to start on saturday. I always feel like I'm dying during races anyhow.
Wish I drank, then I could accept your hot toddy, will have to make do with my ineffective lemsip, sniff.

My first full tour as well.
I have also a great set of excuses including working at the Fox and Goose beer fest Fri afternoon then from 1800 yippeeeeee, I stand down and can then enjoy the nice beers (and turn down the crap ones that I have supped whilst 'working' behind the bar).
Look forward to seeing all you forumites there Sat.
