    Good all rounder wanted

Finally got back to some fell running after a couple of years or more off.

Still got my old faithfull Inov8 Mudrocs (can't believe they are still going) and sometimes use Saucony Jazz Trail shoe for more trail type stuff.

However, most of the stuff I seem to be doing is a mix of off road paths and rocky tracks mixed in with a bit of fell and bog and heather as well. The Dales basically!! Tend to go longer distances rather than short and booked in for running some LDWA events to get me back into the swing of it (if somewhat slowly!!!)

So looking for a middle ground. Something with bit more cushioning than the Mudroc but more grip and durability than an off-road trainer.

Not sure which of the Inov8's would fit the bill (when did they get so many types - there was only about 3 types when I first got a pair!!!) or what other makes etc would fit the bill.

    Recommendations please

New Balance M840 sound ideal for that. £50 or less too, if that's a consideration.

My friend has just got a pair of Walsh Spirit Lights - they seem a pretty good all round shoe for mixed ground and look quite hard wearing. Probably not a racing shoe as such but I dont think they are intended to be. I'll probably try a pair as my all round/training shoes once my Highlanders wear out.

Yorkshire Rob, they'd help me get over all the stone walls round here but not sure how they'd cope with the boggy bits

    Ian botham??????

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll have to see what my local shop has in so I can have a nosy. A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes

The only all rounder i've come accross is the Nike Air Alvord, studded sole and lots of cushioning.
