Substitions now open until 14th April.
Also, does anyone know if there is any evening entertainment? I am sure I heard there was but can now find no reference. I know there is a hog roast in early evening/late afternoon but I want to know about booze??
I wish I could just think of the booze! Had a terrible day and don't think I can get to Ribblehead in the time given. Was ten mins slower than the cut off but every second counts! I am a fell 'donkey'!!! But I just love the Three Peaks. Wish I could go faster!
I'm sure you lot will provide great evening entertainment!!!
This route card is a brilliant idea, showing cummulative splits for various possible finishing times. For instance to aim for a 4 hour finish (I wish) I need to hit these splits:
PyG summit - 42 mins - easy
Ribblehead - 1:53 - doable
Whernside summit - 2:21 <cough>
Chapel le Dale - 2:46 - doable so long as I don't have uber cramp
Ingleborough summit - 3:15 <cough>
Finish - 4:00 - doable with legs still in working order
Stolly,
Isn't the time for PyG on that route card 37 minutes for a 4-hour schedule?
[Mind you, last year I was at PyG in 42 minutes and finished in 4 hours... Well 4 hours and 6 seconds anyway But then I did gain more than 150 places from PyG to the end so I think I was probably taking it a little too easy at the start! ]

People keep telling me its all about putting in the hard work, so i put it in, got to the top of Pen-y-Ghent in 35mins (walkers route) and round all three in 5 hours 10 mins on saturday. Sorry MG but i don't think there is a short cut to fitness and speed, if i find one though i'll sell it you for a pint of Guinness Gonna have to enter the race next year
Hills and Guinness!
