    Re: three peaks

Being the sad, statto, map loving, fell running, computer geek, that my wife thinks I am I have now come to the conclusion that after the 3 Peaks, I am a just under average fell runner.

Using all the data available I have averaged out the split times and overall times and the average time for the race was 4:18:28. So my 4:21:54 was a below average performance. I am now going to go into a dark corner and cry !

Nah, Denzil you haven't factored in the retirees and timeouts. Plus the 3 Peaks entry criteria of at least one AL and one AM means that the average calibre of the particaipant is surely higher than for other races which don't have such entry requirements. Rather than "below average", all things considered, I reckon you should think of yourself as in the upper echelons of fell running; if you want to put a label on it then how about "semi-elite"?

Thanks for the 'boost' crowhill ! Cant remember the last time I had anything classed as a 'semi', even our house is a terrace !

At least I have a goal for next year, to become above average !

    There were cakes???

I now have an ambition to become average and have my cake and eat it

Thanks for the updated results Pike. It confirms my thoughts about how much time and places I was losing on the descents.

Being a lover of stats too Denzil I use a formula to give me a score from races similar to a test result score:
    =100%-(your position/number of runners)
So if you were 100th in a field of 200 you would score 50%, etc. Is that sad or do others do similar?

But they both (White and Wilko) should be listed in the results, as should Lloyd, but they aren't listed at all (do a word search - they aren't there). So by definition this year's published results are incomplete.

    Have I misunderstood something?

Anyone spot anyone else who ran but isn't listed in the results?

Sorry, "they" being White and LLoyd. Wilko is there.

Can anyone explain why Natalie and Lloyd are not in the results (I didn't see Lloyd myself but I was sure O saw Natalie)

Right, Mary Wilkinson - 202, which was Ian Hill in the original entries.
