My 205 takes under a minute, easy. Just leave it on top of the car or stand very still until its locked on. I like it a lot but I've ended up doing a lot of Garmin free runs now.

My 310XT only takes 30 seconds or so, so I leave it on the fire escape while I put my trainers on. It does take longer to get a fix if I have had it switched on inside where it has not been abe to see the sky, or if I have disabled the GPS due to being in doors, but even then it only takes 1 - 2 mins.

Thanks all - gives me something to compare mine to now

Interesting what you say sore legs that it takes longer if you turn it on inside - I usually do that, and then put it in the window.

Am in London tonight and tomorrow, would've been able to test it here if only I had remembered to bring it with me
