smartwool for me every time - the thinnest ones ('adrenaline sport'?) are just right for cold winter running
their walking ones are too thick for any sort of running, IMO
british home stores have heat holders but at 8 quid
Agree about the seal skins- I didn't get on with them either, yet I run with people who love them
I'm OK usually if I keep running but need to change into dry socks quickly when I stop
