    New Balance MT101

Has anyone got any experience with these shoes?

    http://http://www.irunfar.com/2010/10/new-balance-mt-101wt-101-review.html

    I am distictly intrigued.

The next stage on for NB appears to be the Minimus Trail.

though these won't appear for a while yet.

If anyone is using the MT101s, any advice on sizing by comparison with Walsh, Inov8 and Salomon?

The only one who can tell you "You can't" is you. And you don't have to listen.

Does this mean that they are now in the UK? I saw stuart in accelerate with what I think were a pair of these a while back, and was very interested if the price is right.

I just saw those - they look like a cut-down 840 so even better, thanks for the heads up!

Yes. The word was that they wouldn't be releasing them in the UK, but apparently the US version of the 101 that won't be gettng released is actually a totally different shoe to the one shown above. They just share a name. The UK version is therefore on the way, I think Stuart said he would have them in for January.

I'm very interested in these myself. Got two pairs of 840s that I love.

BGSec, if they are anything like standard NB sizing you will need to size up - I am a standard UK size 8 but take a 9 in New Balance. 8.5 in Walsh for comparison.

The suggestion in the iRunfar review was that they would use the sole of the 840 with the 101 upper in the UK, appreciating that we like/need a bit more grip.

Looing forward to hearing more about them in due course.

It looks like this is what they've done but with the 840 midsole as well so its built up at the heal, not really why most people wanted this model in the uk

Let me know if you have specific questions, I've got a pair of UK MT101s sitting around.

Didn't think they'd be bringing these out. Look pretty good and low profile with a realistic price.
Any one know the weight (grams please, we're metric now).
Looks to be a more suitable sole pattern for UK trail running than my current x-talon, Though the x-talon is probably more grippy on the rougher terrain the cost is now putting me off them.

    Fly,
I am in charge online marketing for the official New Balance store in UK, www.shopnewbalance.co.uk. We originally planned to introduce the 101 early next year but I was also pleasingly surprised when I found out that it would be available in November. I have not tried the shoes on but they are great looking shoes. They won the Trail Runner Editors' Choice award and we are getting very positive feedback from runners so far. The weight is 226gr. Please let me know if you have any questions.
