Big thanks to race admin man Harry Howgill and everyone else for their time, i'm going to enter next year because i want one of those mugs!

Really tough course today, rubbish performance. All my hard work coming off Arant Haw was undone by a nav error coming off Winder which made my race 1/4mile longer than everyone elses. I stopped for a bath and a drink in a stream in the end, sod it!

I'm going to have to do a training run along the route to learn how to come off Winder like someone who's not framing like a tool. I've worked out that if i drop NNE off the ridge we went up leading to Arant Haw, cross Swarth Greaves Beck and approach Arant Haw from the next ridge along to the north coming round clockwise again; it will add 1 mile and 650' of climb/descent. The route will then be 6m 2700', that should be fun!

You come off the summit down the path, drop down the first couple of dips, then look to drop off left into a little flat area with a "v" visible on the near horizon. Skip just to the right of that then follow the obvious path straight down. Once you've done it a couple of times you'll have it sussed. Useful for Sedbergh Hills too.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

Cheers Harry. Pigs will fly before i'm able to enter the Sedbergh Hills again, but i'll try your line on a training run some time.

Not too long to wait now, I'm doing every race come hell or high water...which will probably materialise at some point like it did at Fell End Clouds last year. Think i'll play it safe and strap my old canoe to the roof bars.

Race list now up. Looks like there's a new downhill only race at Cautley Spout.
