    Calf Compression socks/sleeves

I've had ongoing problems with calf tears for years so I wondered if (something like) these might help:-

Anyone have any feedback on whether they're any good or not?

(apart from the fact I'll look a proper tw4t in 'em!)

As a fellow sufferer I tend to wear a calf support during the recovery phase - currently this one

I'd like to think they do aid recovery but haven't worn them on a regular basis when injury-free so cannot comment on their preventative ability.

As for looking a tw4t, my calf problems haver tended to be over the winter months so the support is usually hidden by leggings/tracksters.

We discussed this re Skinz not long ago. If that thread can't be found, I'm willing to repeat what I had to say then ie buy the proper Dr Scholl below the knee stockings for a proper fit and probably a big saving in cash. Don't be fooled by sporty but probably ineffective versions.

I can highly recommeded 2XU calf guards or SKINS powersox. I have loads of pairs and have worn them during training/racing for last 3 years and have suffered no calf problems. Whereas previously I had problems every few weeks. They look silly, but work. Got me through BGR training and successful round this year, doubt I could have done it without them.
