Next year's World Masters mountain race (the oap version) in Paluzza, Italy, is 5K/500ft for 55+ and 10K 1,000ft for everyone else.

This is another so called 'mountain race' without a mountain.
The presence of mountains nearby, or a vaguely undulating XC course on the flat part of a mountain, doesn't make it a mountain race to my mind.
According to the blurb on the website it's 1 short lap & 1 long lap for the 55+ which adds up to 8.68km not 5k
