Bolton Course is declared fit.
Just a slight amendment to the Route.

See map - I'll try to explain.
To the left of the track at the bottom of the hill as you come out of the trees, the small clockwise loop is rutted due to vehicles prior to the freeze.
This area will be reduced a lot to allow just a little safe turning area before the climb towards the 5-a-sides.
All races will be slightly shorter as a result the mens will have an additional parade lap of the start field at the start to make back some of that distance.
This is all subject to the elements and what they throw at us tonight though.
Thanks very much for that. What's the best place to check in the morning that it is still fit for purpose?
Cheers.
Manchester Area League in Boggart Hole Clough is definitely 'on' as well.
To the Regiment - I Wish I Was There
It will be on Ady - just get yourself down there.
RED ROSE IS OFF TOMORROW!!!!
See below from Nick at Bolton:
Dear All,
Apologies but in the hours since the inspection today at 3 pm it has commenced and now continues to snow.
The forecast is that rain is due between now and mid afternnon (Sat). Whilst we can probably cope with the snow the rain will instantly freeze making the course and travelling to it and a completely unnacceptable risk.
I apologise for any inconvenience as we had intended to go ahead on the forcast at the time and conditions we found. I Know you will understand the difficulty in making this decsion but also apprecaite the need to do it as soon as I felt the risk had become unreasonable (even for cross country)

When in doubt, brew up.
Thanks Paul.
I would have expected the Red Rose site to be updated with this highlighted on the 1st page as a number of people will probably have a wasted trip.
Ideally, Yes, but the site is updated by a 3rd party unfortunately.
It was agreed at the meeting on Wednesday that e-mails would be sent out to club reps, which is what has happened.
It has been called off the day before, albeit late, so hopefully runners this morning will either contact their club rep or e-mail or website and very few if any will travel.
When in doubt, brew up.
Thanks again for saving me a 60 mile round trip!
