For anyone stuck in the south at new year.
10am, 31st December at Hadleigh Castle Country Park gr TQ 5800 1869 (a few miles west of Southend, Essex).
4.2 miles, 1000ft of climb, all off road on grassy downland, scrub and marsh; adjacent to the area that will be used for the olympic mountain biking. Panoramic views of the Thames & Canvey Island oil refineries (LK not an advantage)(neither are NS, as despite being marked, people go astray). Very low key, entry fee is an old race memento; free race memento to all finishers. Chocolate or alcohol brought on to site will be liable to confiscation/redistribution.
