BG is a glutton's paradise, I've never eaten so much before or since!
My failed 1st attempt was mainly (not exclusively) about not eating enough. Sorted out for 2nd attempt and sailed through.
Caveat though, some people are different and you have to find out what works for you in terms of frequency, volume and type of food.
In theory what SS says about BG being a gluttons paradise is so true but often in parctice for many is that you dont eat, cant eat and this brings on a never ending feeling of nausea. I'd strongly advise eating from the start and as frequently as you can as this often prevents the nausea creeping in too early. Once it does start you need to discip[line your self to eat (and drink) even though you dont feel like it and thats often where good support teams come in,in forcing you to stop and take food or gels on board. The tales of Dean Karnazes feeling so hungry and ordering pizza's on his mobile and arranging points for him to meet the pizza delivery boy during his various ultras sound great but reality is often different .
