I'm new to this one - so are you meaning that the 'higher' path above the beck is the cleaner route down to the intake fields, or is it all scree? Which is the most obvious from the stretcher hut?

That is the main path down (the "higher" path) its rough in places and a bit loose but you can't really go wrong.

The path Morgan is on about is about 300m South of that path, it really joins the start of the Corridor route up Scafell rather than the stretcher box.

If you pass the stretcher box the path will split soon after you want the left branch as the right goes to the Napes.

I hope its a clear day

Thanks for that - will probably go for the clearner higher route skirting round Gable. Weather looks set to be lovely. Hoping to get set off for 8.30 then can be back in good time for the rugby matches!!:w00t:

What a cracking route that was today and we couldn't have asked for better weather! A really big THANK YOU to the organisers for rekindling this one. Also a big THANK YOU to the checkpoint people who provided such lovely snacks at Wasdale and Gatesgarth. I will be adding this to my race list for next year! I clocked 4hr and 2 mins - happy with that as took it steady and strong (legs still feeling it after racing Trollers to get a PB!)

Well I got home in time for the Rugby but TBH the Morecambe Bay and Bowland LDWA Four lakeland passes was far superior to Englands performance, thanks again to all concerned:thumbup:.
