Maybe try "Hour Of The Wolf"... directed by Ingmar Bergman.... rather old, might seem very noddy now, but 'twas scary on lots of levels... probably impossible to find, and if you do, please let me know and I'll borrow/buy it off you!
Anything featuring Mrs Thatch' used to scare to sh*t out of me too.... Reagan in second place, and rather sadly the Blair gleam has become rather worrying.... lets see what the new B fist brings...?
PS The Shining has it's moments..... (but I guess that is old hat now)

Miss Muddy Paws Dad....
Not clever & often stupid..
Night of the Demon.
A classic B&W scary....made me have nightmares when I was 10!

The Thing by John Carpenter
It's no cerebral classic, but once it's into it's stride it it a relentlessly fun horror.
30 years and still here.
Try 'The Hills Have Eyes'. The latest one not the original. Pretty brutal. The sound/background music is excellent especially through the old surround sound and made the film in my opinion. Let us know your best of the best after you have watched them.

How about that video that somebody made of this year's Edale Skyline race.
Frightens me when I watch it....
Everybody's heart doesn't beat the same.
