Talon 212 / 190 sizes

Hiya,

i tried on some Talon 212's today and found that in an 8.5 my toes were quite close to the end but the 9's were a bit too long. It sort of left me a bit confused as i felt the 9's were too big (about a thumbs worth from end to big tow), but then a tad worried that the 8.5's are too small (not quite touching end but v close).
any thoughts from you lot?
also are the 190's similar in sizing?

im currently in size 9 claw 270's and its time for a change.

Try the 8 1/2 with the footbeds out.

I'm thinking of going back to the 270's tbh. I love my 212's and my 190's but they don't last two minutes. The 190's especially are very weak uppers. Holes in them after just a few races same as my baregrips (after 2 races!). While I love the feel of the more minimalist shoe the 270's are made of much sturdier stuff. Re: size (which was, after all, your question) - I find my 212's and 190s comparable.

Despite what Inov-8 might have you believe, their sizes have changed to something a little more akin to the sizes everyone else uses, i.e. they're a little larger. I used to be a size 9 in 270s and 310s, but now in an 8.5 in 295 and using 9 in latest 270 and 315, but with an additional 3mm footbed which makes them a better fit.

This year's talons are definitely bigger than last years pair both are size nine. I've just put the old insoles in with the new but I'll probably get 8.5 next year. It's a pain in the proverbial when manufacturers change the size of their products.
