Which CFR did you follow then?
Ha! I'm tempted to say that's most of them then - but that ain't true! You've just learnt a vital lesson in the art of racing - never ever trust a local vest.
Did that on the Tour of Pendle a few years back and paid for it with some extra ascent - not a race that needs any more climbing in my opinion!

Yes, good tester, and lots of fast running. Doesn't look like we'll be cutting steps in the snow this year. Swimming between the tops maybe? And an energy sapping run in through what I imagine will be described as "heavy going".
Usually gets a good number turning out, with a wide range of talent.
Once won a piece of steak at this race.
