Having never entered a MM, I'm asking this question from a position of total ignorance! Do they not allow bivvy bags?I have a "Mountain Range" Goretex with full diagonal zip (800g), it is brilliant. If I'm on the hill and unable to sleep in the van, then it is always the bivvi-bag. Have not used the tent for 8 years.
Originally bought it to do a Scottish C2C for my 50th summer (birthday not until November) in 2000. 9 nights of bivvi & bothy; very memorable trip, always snug and dry with no condensation, despite downpours and white-outs.
mm's ive entered in have always stipulated that it needs to be tent, sewn in groundsheet, designed manufactured as tent etc...etc....
Why not share with a female fellrunner, and then you will have a tent in your trousers???..
