    Walk for all

Anyone else see this event advertised?

A marathon walk round Yorkshire for £25. Just highlights to me the value of LDWA events. Trollers trot recently wasn't far away from the area being used and cost a tenner I think.

I'm not in anyway intending to criticise Mike Tomlinson or any of them for that matter, I have a great respect for the late Jane Tomlinson (being from Leeds myself as well) and I've run a few of the run for all events in the past. I just found the comparison interesting. That said, the shorter events are cheaper and the cost of the marathon walk is still cheaper than the Leeds 10k

That does seem expensive! Not sure how much the Leeds 10k is but i'm sure they charge £40 for the Manchester one.
I'm just starting to organise an event, its a linear route along Wenlock Edge in Shropshire all off road for 17.5 miles. I intend to put on busses from the finish point to the start so that participants can make their own way back in their own time and a bit of soup etc at the finish. I'm trying to keep the cost down for people and am thinking it will be £10-£12 does this seem reasonable?

    Re: Walk for all

The Jane Tomlinson Walk For All is clearly a fund raising event, rather than a cover-the-costs event or a make-a-profit-from-it event - we need to distinguish clearly between these. The organizers of the Jane Tomlinson event do seem to be trying very hard to make it an enjoyable day and value for money.
