Anyone doing this?/done it before? Thought I might pop along....
obviously I am going to the fell race.... not just to do some dog trials
(should be in legoland really!!)
Yes. Did it last year and nearly froze to death in freezing rain on Win Hill.
Its similar to the Bamford race except that the start takes you along the old cinder railway track bed that ends at the dam wall, then you climb the steepest part of Winn Hill called Parkin Clough. A flatish bit next as you skirt the forest above Ladybower than a steep climb to the summit.
You come down the main fast grassy track till you're nearly in Thornhill then veer off back onto the railway track.
As Swoop says, last year was appalling with 'Edale Skyline type' conditions. Forecast seems OK for tomorrow though
Mrs Stagger fancys a run out so we will be traveling down.
Do them dogs round kids up? cause they can practice on mine.
Woof! Nearly local for me, so it'd be rude not to do it.
thought it would be good to start a thread

Any advice re: terrain, pace, killer hills
Trying to plod up hills every day slightly faster than the day before
Easy out along a road/bridleway, thrutch straight up a steep trail through woods to the top of Win Hill, then runnable decent until you pick up the a bit of trail to finish where you started from.
My first ever fell race this.
Does anybody know if the results from last Mondays race have been published yet, and if so, where? Thanks
