Stay on the valley road until the traffic light crossroads in the middle of Ilkley. Turn left up the main street. At the top turn left and immediately right and carry on straight up until the cattle grid.
cheers, you mean middle of ilkely where crossroads are, with pub on corner and as turn left (coming from otley) its shops on either side? also do you know if map is essential
Done this last 3years - you're given a photocopied map and asked to carry it. It's a cracking race!
Egor - thats the correct place. Pub on the right is now called the Dalesway, Crescent Hotel on the left.
When is this
Coming from Otley head straight into the centre of Ilkley and turn left at the X-roads by the Crescent hotel. Up to the end then lefta nd immediately right continuing up the hill. Over the cattle grid and the car park (if you are early enough) is on the right.
Essentially it is just below White Wells. Taking a load of juniors from Otley AC hopefully. Don't know about the map but the route is unmarked so it might be a good idea to have one, or do a recce. I might do one this Sunday if anyone is interested?
Nice to see you Derby, hope the leg gets better soon, just in time for Beamsley, then you can run and drink after and not worry about driving home, nice to have a race on your doorstep.

Morgan,
I'm looking forward to doing this one as I missed it last year. After Cowpers Cross I think I know some good lines, but the run from the Badgers Stone across to Swastika Stone and back could do with some reccing I think. I just hope it's not as foggy as it was on the day of the Rombalds Stride.
