Question Anyone else get itchy feet...?

No, nothing to do with today being the most common day for divorce proceedings to start on; and seriously...

...after a race (and bizzarely never in training, no matter what the intensity!), and most often (and always) when the conditions underfoot have been the wetter side of damp (...so wet feet during the race), the soles of both feet, the outer-foot side of the arches, itch like crazy

Starts within an hour or so of getting changed when normally I'm either
    a) still in the pub (embarrassing but not as dangerous as...)
    b) when I'm driving back home

Tried both wearing and not wearing (usually the latter which assists access!) socks but doesn't appear to make any difference at all.

Anyone else get this...? (and moreover, found a remedy???)
...there's a hill nearby missing its fool...

Is it possible there is some sort of chemical in the shoes that is leeching through on contact with water??? Perhaps a waterproofing compound, or something you clean them with?

Not specifically my feet, but I used to get itchy legs after I'd had a shower. Having a bath (even a very shallow quite one) doesn't make me itch at all, so I now just have baths and not showers if I can.

    hmm...intersting thoughts; thanks Allan/Socks.

I race in Walshes (...and interestingly never train in them...!) and usually put on an old pair of asics (gel) after a race. On the rare occassions either pair get a clean it's either with just hot water or with fairy liquid in the water.

Socks, just to compound the symptoms, I get the opposite to you! In a bath my calves itch, but never have in a shower! Bizzare or what

I get that - but on the TOPS of my feet!!

Though actually my walking boots seem to be the chief culprit, but I don't race in them!!! I can see like small blister-like lumps on the skin.

    D'ya think we're just a riffy lot?

I think we could usefully compare feet! Sounds like we'd have a good pair between us!
