    Re: Recovery low back strain

Recovering now :-) Stuck at some exercises I found on the net and seems to paying dividends. 10 mile fell run a week last Friday (back started to ache but hamstring/piriformis stretches stopped it), followed up by 8 mile trail run and 4.5 fastish fell run last week. I did end up seeing another physio from running club who foun nothing untoward - just needed to persevere with the exercises

    Re: Recovery low back strain

Tweaked my lower back lifting something awkwardly yesterday , thought nothing of it other than an ache but tonight I tried to go on my usual run and it was agony, I only managed 5 mins outward before I had to stop, every step painful jarring. A slow walk back. I hate being injured and losing fitness. SO its a big cushion and a heat pad and a grim face ;-(

    You have my sympathies!

I tweaked my lower back on Tuesday morning......not lifting anything heavy or awkward.......Putting my bloody socks on!! It hurt like hell when i did it and it's still aching now. I don't think it's anything more than a muscle pull, but it's put paid to any running and it's still catching me out every now and then.

Hope it improves soon, I guess it's just rest and taking things easy really? Unless anyone's got any advice to speed things up a bit?

I would try to keep it moving and as much gentle stretching as you can. Swimming might be good.

Thanks , I am going to pack my swim shorts and make an effort to go lane swimming to add to my stretching regime. Easing slowly but just when I think its well on the mend I sneeze and the pain is agony as it shoots through my back reminding me to take it slowly. Patience Zaf patience !

Woozy head , gippy tum and oh the worst thing is the constipation !! ;-0 ; can't cope with bad back and bottom . So voltarol , heat and stretching continues and its working very slowly.
