Poacher turned game-keeper
someone who is disappointed when then get home from a run with dry feet.
.....probably out running and not wasting time on these here forums.
I know some fellrunners who can't descend for toffee.
If you're the kind of person who can get past the whole notion of running or racing on the fells and is prepared to give it a go, you're a fellrunner. Might sound daft but it's worth remembering that there are many runners that wouldn't dream of running or racing on the fells for fun and would feel ill at ease off the roads. I''m thinking of some of the newer female runners in our club who aint the quickest but have really taken to the fells and are brightening up many a local fellrace by the very fact that they seem to really love it and are training to get better at it. They're as much fellrunners as those of us with years of racing and silly big days out under our belts....
a fell runner is someone who wants to be out on the fells running. whether or not that is possible is another thing, its about having the desire to want to be there.
dont know where im going, dont know where ive been, all im doing is running, running to have fun.
Is somebody who's ankle have changed shape and are generally twice as big as your average road runner, err or is that just me.
is someone who just loves it for what it is (or is that just me talking bollocks?)
Is self contained, self aware, knows their limits and pushes against them. Plus they have some bad ass ugly toes and peat bog stained feet!
