But seriously, it's a new race, organised by someone new and aproximately over the old course. So new rules, they are the same for everyone.
Some of the route is probably over land where the organiser has obtained permission to run (I'm guessing) so he won't want to risk upsetting any landowners by having recce parties over the ground before the race.
