The hills of Mid Wales blighted by wind farms which cannot be relied on.

They are referred to as being green but in reality are white elephants.
Spot on they are a waste of space

I grew up within sight of a coal fired power station.
It was beautiful. Those eight cooling towers on the go all day, making amazing plumes in the sky. That massive chimney pumping all that lovely stuff just high enough to make sure the acid rain fell on Norway and not us, whilst at the same time making sure the climate got better. And not just for us! For our children and grandchildren who are going to benefit from all of that lovely sunshine!

Do you want a wind farm on your hill, or a nuclear power station in your back yard?
    Nuclear for me please.

Plenty of brown field sites to build on.

Hydro and tidal power for me please (remove the wind turbines and their concrete bases from the sea bed and help to lower the rising sea levels).

Bloody heck John, I've been accused of island mentality. What a great idea Sir.

I've always said we should throw all our research resources into tidal power... I've been told (several times on here!) that the technology is too complex and expensive, but surely it's worth developing. Who knows what technological capabilites we'll have in the next decade or two.

As an island with some of the biggest tidal ranges in the world it's got to be the way to go
