I had a blue Horsforth vest and a red cap on. I said hi to someone at the wall just below the fell side on my way back to the finish and thought it was you.

A bloke from the council is coming round to set a trap some time, hopefully a humane trap.

Not to worry, I'll see you at some point again and make myself known.
Let us know how you get on with the Mink

It will be humane till it leaves your house then I imagine they will be despatched with "extreme prejudice". It is illegal to release a trapped mink I believe anyway. On the plus side there will be water voles and other small mammals lying safer in their burrows because of your actions
No country for old men.
Mink are a bit more interesting than squirrels in the attic - noisy, and one of them eventually drowned in the attic water cistern - wondered why the water had an off taste/odour. The smell when I removed it was horrific.
The trap went down today, it's a humane trap. I think they've got in along an old drain that used to surface just outside the house before the extension was built over it. If the mother has nested up a pipe near the beck then the youngsters might well have found their way up it and come out under the extension, it's all i can think of. Haven't heard them for a while now.

The council pest control officer's traps have ensnared the little black critters, my god they absolutely stink. One decided to take a piss on the bathroom carpet as i was lifting it out from under the bath...nice. I've never wished harm upon them so i'm a bit sad that they were silly enough to keep coming back, but if you stay on the ball you stay on the wall, survival of the fittest. I've had to put them out in the summer house for the night, the noise they were making trying to escape the cages was horrendous.
One of them screeched at the black and white cat shortly after i'd taken the photo, he's a right soft bag of crap and i've never seen him move as fast in my life! He's probably scared to come back into the garden now.

By, that was quick. I'm sure you appreciate how aggressive they can be having seen them locked up! Nasty little gits aren't they?
