also is it as tough as it looks!!!!
This race really killed me the first year I did it, it is a very tough 10 mile or so race. Saying that I had only done 10 mile on the roads.
Just prepare for the sting in the tail on the way up to hole in't wall.
Did it last year and did not suffer as bad as first year, due to being a little more experienced and knowing what to expect.
No map but route goes
Glenridding
Catsye Cam
Helvellyn
A point in between
Grisdale Tarn
St Sunday Crag.
May Also be a checkpoint in the valley
Then back to glenridding via Hole in't wall
Some body who knows may be a little more descriptive

Jamie, Is Grisedale as tough as Sedbergh?
Are you doing it/staying on the Sat night for a few pints?

No Grisedale is easier but not much easier, it is a lot rockier.
I reckon time wise about 20minutes shorter. Still a hell of a lot of climb mind you. With a real kick in the arse at the end.
Try to find the short scree run off St Sunday Crag, I used it last year on race day, but have never found it since. Perhaps the organisor put it there specially.
My legs are killing me today, Im going easy now till Grisedale. Not even thinking about another long run.

Has anyone got a GR for the last checkpoint, might head up on Saturday to check the course out if my cold has cleared up by then.
me and daz had fun last year,i nearly got blown off the side of swirral edge
shame i cant do it this year, love this race
CP at rivercrossing (Grisedale Beck):
NY36965 15070 (you can see crossing point as you descend)
Think this was the last one although it could have just been marshals at the river crossing. Previous was top of St Sunday Crag. More feedback should confirm.
I think the last checkpoint is the hole in the wall after climbing back up the valley but don't quote me on that
I have done this twice and found it the toughest fell race I have done - although I have not done the Ben or other epics. This has more climbing than the Ben over similar distance. If I am injury free this year I would like to go up and do it again, cracking route although I have still to find a good line off St. Sunday Crag! Killer of a last ascent up Grisedale brow which is a flank but hellish steep after 8.5 miles or so. I will try a plot a rough route on the O/S Memory map - PM me with email addy and I will forward.
