Soles on the Baregrip, ridiculous. Dont seem to be wearing out at all.
The uppers are a different story, however. after a few miles of heather bashing theyre basically just going to fall apart.
If you can cope with running in a shoe with a massive hole in the upper, I'm sure it will be fine.
These manufacturers are re-inventing the wheel with'Zero-drops' - Onitisuka (now Asics) had these years ago with the Tiger Cub (in fact I do believe Jeff Norman won the Three Peaks in a pair of Tigers!)
just to be pedantic onitisuka and asics are separate companies and you can still buy tigers from quite a few high st shops but there sold as fashion shoes.

Eh? My bog standard racing flats are lighter than any on that list (Asics DS Racers at 6.9 oz) and there's plenty lighter than those out there for both road and fell...
