Montane featherlite...it's windproof, great for that. But it is in NO WAY even the slightest bit waterproof, and neither is the H2O jacket. The montane Atomic is waterproof, I've just got one and so far I'm impressed. For the money, it's pretty good.

Point taken, but at £22 it's good for a small packable windproof. The Atomic is top of my list aswell

I have a featherlite and a H2O and the H2O is definitely waterproof. It's not by any means a cold weather or extreme conditions jacket, nor would I use it for walking in wet conditions, but it does keep the water out enough for running. I use it often because it's a great trade-off between weight and weatherproofing.

Your H2O must be better than mine then, Rob. I would hesitate to even call my one 'showerproof' although I do like it as a windproof, and I can hike the sleeves up to cool down a bit, which I can't do with the Featherlite. I can, just, with the atomic as well.

I find the H20 better than the Atomic unless the weather is cold, never had a problem with the H20 jackets not being waterproof and my featherlite smock is ok in light showers.
