I just carry a bin bag for my top half, two little dog poo bags for gloves and carrier bag for my head. Works alright for me.

Me too, DD, plus a roll of duct tape in case IDP is on the kit check.

Good alternative to waterproof trousers is duct tape. Be careful round your knees though I had problems at Ben Nevis.

I'm more of a glass half full sort of bloke. I leave the forum for 4 months and, when I come back, there's a thread about taped seams. Like I was never away.

You need to get some of the new Inov8 duct tape. It comes in different weights depending on the length of race, country and expected weather. You can never have too many varieties.

In 250 different fell races I have entered only ONE race which demanded a water proof top in the kit requirements and I remember it well because I went out and bought a new top at considerable expense.

So what is all the fuss about ?
