Agreed. I can't wear X-talons, or f-lite without getting really bad blisters. 285's without insoles seem to be the best fitting inov's for my feet. (I've tried nearly all the fell/trail inov-8's in the past).

No doubt the NB is a good option but I'd go for the shoe with less drop which is the 285. I also think it has one of the best soles for the mixture of terrain that the OP described. Inov's sticky rubber is quality.
