Piercing the bag is ok if the contents is liquid... but for honey, or my porridge, you need a slightly bigger hole... If you tear off too big a corner though, it becomes a mess

I wonder if small ziplock bags would work - just open the zip a little? I'm keen on this idea for spoonless consumption of rice pudding.

I suspect it might turn rather messy getting the honey past the 'zip'. It's also usually easier/less messy to choose a corner that is completely flexible, i.e. no hard seams as they don't flex as well as you want.
