If I do this race, am I likely to be in a fit state on the monday to go to the olympics? Have tickets in morn and afternoon of the 30th july for basketball and volleyball and dont want to miss it as its little biaras 10th birthday. Little biara to me is more important than a race, but she has said I can go as long as i dont miss the olympics.

I did the 50 this year as a pair and thought it was a fantastically well organised event. This was my first ultra and I have entered the 50 again next year but this time as a solo. From speaking to other more experienced ultra runners at this years event they all seemed to say the same thing that the nutrition on offer at each checkpoint was much more than any other race that they have done. I also plan to attempt the BGR in mid june!

The L100 still comes in under the critical pound-a-mile, making it better value than the L50, which doesn't!

I'm going to do the Wasdale race next year. Entry and petrol for the price of the L50. (Not that I'm saying they're comparable!)

Nothing against the L50 as I've had two great years doing it, but I paid £50 the first time. £70 is quite a jump. Suppose it's hard to resist doing that when the demand is so great.

Your tent can camp for free while your out enjoying yourself, i might stick a teddy in mine for no extra cost:wink:

I suppose it's not so different for the 50 people as a fair few of them won't get back till the early hours of the Sunday, so not really two full nights. Having said that, family are allowed to camp with you so they're still getting the benefit, even if you're still out and about
