I've probably said this many times before, but:
Steve Cram's Dad used to drive him back down the hill between reps to avoid too much recovery time.
In the spirit of this, you could run up to Holme Moss summit carrying your bike, then cycle back down again.
For a BG, assuming you are simply aiming to be within the 24 hours much of your climbing will be done walking, only shallower gradients are likely to be run.
Where you will run is on the flat and on the downhill. It is the downhill that will do the real damage over the course of the round.
