Trying to connect my etrex to pc, wanting to import tracks and stuff to memory map. Keep getting told Can't open com1 error 5 . I'm sure i've set it up right, also i'm using a serial cable as i can't get hold of usb, can anyone shed any light, has anyone had same probs.

I'm not a PC nerd but I get the same message. I've got an etrex and a PC. It probably means your serial port is not COM1, try a different number between COM2 and COM 9. That usually worked for me. In the end I bought a serial to USB adapter and now run it that way. (you get a cable and CD in the box)
I like to go to work on a Monday morning more tired than I come home on a Friday evening!
