    Unfortunately the finger wasn't easy to get back. I had a good laugh on the entonox after the first (one doctor) attempt, then I had a local anaesthetic before two doctors pulled in opposite directions and finally got it back in place after several more tries. By then it was a couple of hours after the accident. I've just found my gloves in my bumbag - must have taken them off myself straight after it happened in order to use my phone, but I don't remember it.

    I don't recall anything being said about the position of my patella, other than it is a bit deformed.... but always has been. There were however, plenty of words like tendons, ligaments, joint capsule and a lot of debridement (look it up)

    My son says the bike rides fine, and can he borrow it tomorrow when he goes to watch the National Hill Climb! I wasn't actually going very fast, the problem was what I landed on. Thanks for the wishes. Andy
