However my hand writing is shocking so didn't tend to do it very often anyway.

I used to write loads of letters to folk, but I honestly can't remember when I last did it. Text and emails have taken over.

I agree with your disagreement funnily enough. I've kept many a text in the past. The Guardian once had a text poem competition,years ago,in the days when texts had limited amounts of characters. 140? A winner wrote: 'One small vibration in my hand, One giant leap in my heart.'
