Oh the joy of being woken up at this time by crying relatives who have fallen out after a few too many..... Yawn. Glad I'm not racing tomorrow!

There you go. You can choose your friends but you can't choose your relatives.
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.
I am so glad nobody in my house drinks to any extent, and me not at all. I had enough of that as a child ....
I drank too much on Thursday night, got no sleep, struggled all day Friday and didn't recover enough sleep to allow me to get up and race at the Really Wild Boar today. It seemed a good idea at the time but two days later I'm paying the price! Rubbish...
Glad somebody posted a thread called "Too much wine...", I've been drinking far too much to be healthy. Not big quantities by any stretch of the imaginationa although it all builds up. But certainly enough to muck up my sleep and leave me with sore and wobbly head on a Sunday morning when I should be already be on the hill.
Good grief, by the time I stop feeling sorry for myself I'll need to pack a headtorch to go for a run!!
Curse you Guiness, damn you and the fine establishment from where I purchased you
I think, considering the scale of challenge I've set myself over the next 5-6 months, it's time to go tee total

Thanks Steve. The slippery slope - that tastes nice - I'd like a glass - I need a glass - I am going to have a glass and nothing is going to stop me - only applies to the minority but a very significant minority and of course it affects the whole family, sometimes for generations. I had to stop a relative visiting to prevent my daughter being exposed to what I witnessed as a child. There is no easy answer but at least these days there is some help available - Alcohol Liaison Teams - though I cannot say how useful their intervention is. Good luck.
