A bit off thread - Trig I have sent you an email about the Magnificient 7 - have you seen it?
Does this mean there's a running of the Magnificent 7 trig point extravaganza in the offing ??
Last time (actually the only time!) I did this with some chaps from 'Heptonstall Hurriers' we started outside the White Lion in Heptonstall itself. Then it was up to:
Standing Stone Hill
Bridestones
Hoofstones
Boulsworth Hill
Stoop/Alcombden Stones
High Brown Knoll
Sheepstones
and finishing in the White Lion for a very welcome sit down and a drink! It was an earlyish start (about 7am if I remember) and we took about 6h30 over it with fuel/photo stops on the way round.
Apologies MM - I ve been a bit up to my neck at work and home
GOOD POINT re 6 Trigs / Magnificent 7 - it was widely agreed that a winter round would be a popular expedition (there was even some talk of an informal realy format)
Seems to me that it would be tricky to plan before Xmas but I could see it taking place on a Saturday some time Jan/early Feb (avoiding local races). Snow would be likely and could add the challenege.
I'm going to put to my usual compadres then see if our forum/CVFR/Tod clubmates would like to make it a social (with some suitable refreshment back in Heptonstall)
Must start a thread......
Are you still up for it?
Cheers Mark - funnily enough I was in St Helens today.
It would be great to see you and your club mates on the day
BTW our website is still being updated for the 2012 race but date and details are correct on FRA race diary (race web site is a useful source of map/route details).
