If you can stretch to it I'd get the 60D. That one also has pretty good video as well. The 'Teapot' photo was taken with a Canon 7D and EF-S 15-85mm lens . When I bought my 7D I thought I'd use my old lenses, but I found they were old and not very good optically so as soon as I had some more cash I bought a few additional lenses - albiet some extortionatly expensive ones!

I wouldn't worry about getting a telephoto zoom you're lacking wide angle lenses. Get the cheaper body (which is still very good) and buy a wider zoom lens something like 17-50.

Tamron do a nice lens which is 17-50 and f2.8 all the way through (professional standard). For what it is it's very cheap about £250.

I took these with it http://www.flickr.com/photos/3916943...7626365160548/

The other thing to remember is you'll keep your good lenses and ditch the bodies. I'm using a Nikon 17 -35 f2.8 at work which is almost 20 years old!

Good lenses are very pricey though.......

Thanks guys feel a bit happier now.
I'd love the 60d Dom but it's out of my modest price range Esp since I've got to pay for the family to go skiing!

Time to go haggle at the camera shop me thinks.

...I was going add That lament the loss of my first camera A zenith from WW1 well it felt like it, nothing automatic then, no auto focus, no zoom, just a hand held light meter, had it for 18 years before the weight finally made me get a new one.

That'll do nicely. If you're feeling flush you could get the 50mm 1.8 for around £80 - it's a lovely cheap portrait lens by all accounts and fast enough for low light....

I still use my manual rangefinder, with no light metre just exposing by experience, it's great fun!

    Re: Camera-lenses

I got a second hand 450D with the 18-55 kit lens. I use that and the two zooms from my EOS, 35-80 and 80-200 I think. I figured I'd use these till I worked out what I wanted ...still doing that. I wish someone would tell me. And pay for them
