    kids approach/trail shoes

I need to buy some approach/trail type shoes (with low ankle and low heel stack height) for a very keen 5 year old mountain walker. His feet are about 11 (euro 29) anyone got any good advice. I need to buy on-line too, any good retailers? I've had a bit of a search on the net but can't find much in his size so I'm a bit at a loss.

    I think you might struggle.

Some of the European brands might have something that will be OK, such as Geox.

Most UK brands are driven by the Black School standard whereas they wear colours in Europe so do much more in terms of techincal footwear for kids, even Goretex Snow Boots.

This gives you a few options with brands such as Teva, Hi Tec...

When my kids were younger they got on well with Meindl Juniors. HiTecs seemed to fall apart very quickly on the rough stuff.

we always used to find some for our boys- often in Twinner in france.
    Have you tried Decathlon?
In UK Mountain warehouse have that type of thing in small sizes but doubt they deliver abroad.
Agree Hi ec don't last long but neither does much between ages 5-12 as they get trashed or grown out of so fast. A pair that lasted a whole summer in the Dolomites were deamed good value!

I found some New balance trainers on-line which will do for now, I will probably checkout my local decathalon although TBH its not my favourite shop in the world.
