I get these sometimes. I find wearing socks in bed makes a big different - perhaps it helps them recover? Either way it seems to work - give it a go.

Thanks for both pieces of advice. I have followed both and they have helped. I've also passed them onto someone else (a man) who was moaning about chilblains.
I've only just got my first pair of waterproof socks after nearly twenty years of running.
