I'm certainly not claiming it's seldom visited ! Just had a nostalgic moment & had to put a post up. In one direction you can see the riots in Bradford & in the other the beautiful Ilkley Moors. What a contrast.

What are you talking about? That's what we call a hill in Suffolk. (Glad to be in Yorkshire now)

Meanwhile my local one when growing up in the flatlands of 'Bicestershire' was....

    Not as remote as this...

    Burton Fell

It's right in the middle of the Warcop training ground off the A66 between Brough and Appleby. Our cottage is nearby and my grandad used to take me and our kid on tours around the lanes inside the danger zone when we were little. When the red flag is down you can use the rights of way and go see loads of stuff that's been shot to bits with 50cal. There's an old ruined house on the edge of the danger zone called Tarn House, you can't get to it when the red flag's up but it's a really interesting building. Actually there's quite a lot of really nice hilly land out of bounds at Warcop, the danger zone is vast.

I'd thought about devising a route to Tarn House, but the FRA RO guidelines wouldn't allow for the risk factor i don't think, even if the red flag was down.

Similar to Mark's toppled trig (didn't know it was possible), this was my grim local trig growing up...

Just to be contrary, here's one near my mum's house that is anything but seldom visited!

No need for cut off times as an incentive - You can just imagine the pre-race brief, blah blah, random kit checks blah, and oh one last point ........ slow runners will be possibly be shot from xyz hours onwards.

    Re: Seldom visited trigs

I found this one last June

Not far from Sidmouth and, from the track through the woods to it, it wasn't much visited that I could see. Mind you, what do 'suvveners' know about trig points
