    winter hill fell race

As some may know winter hill fell race be approaching and I'm going to be having a go. I know united utillities request no recce runs but I've been (not sure how they could stop you as far as I can tell looking at all the signs its all open access moorland anyway). One minor issue I got lost not by much I missed the shooting box by about 400m to the the right. Is there anything you need to be looking out for ie following any paths or is it as I did go straight accross the tussocks on a line which should hit the shooting box? The rest seems reletively straight forward to me.

Having said that I'll be goign for another run on winter hill prior to the race not a recce of course

Anyone know if it's the same route as last year to the finish or are they going back to the old route, through the gardens?

I picked up the path just above the shooting box rather than risking a direct hit on the CP itself. Follow the path, carefully avoiding the fast lads coming the other way, then drop into the CP from above.

I've sent in my entry, hope it didn't get lost in Xmas mail

As you come across the field (there is a bit of a trod appearing) you should hit the path BT mentions turning right and gong down to CP then come back UP this same path and look to your right for a big bit of worn away earth - it's deep you can't miss it!! then take a right and head on up!

There's plenty of people to follow for the first part of the race, it's once you hit the trig point thats when everyone disappears!!
