    Charlesworth Chase

Just noticed this on the Wharfedale site, FRA reg'd. You have to down a pint before crossing the finish line! The drinkers won't even need to run hard, in fact the harder you run the more likeley you are to sing a rainbow and get a DNF.

It's not a new concept the 'downing a pint' before being timed...Briscoes Brewery Fell Race on Danefield/Chevin (including using our relay route on at least one occasion) in the early-mid 2000s also included a pint (orange squash for u18s!).

Good to see a race going up Simon's Seat again though - will it be a one-off?

I have to say i'm not fond of Simon's Seat, it's all heather and stones, but that climb is fairly sharp. I think Nick's going to try and make it an annual thing.

Aye, that section along the Dales Way is a delightful route.

Oh right, yeah that'll be ok too. I tend to go to the New Inn, they do a particularly good sticky toffee pudding when they can be arsed to do it properly, which is a real treat after a hard run around Trollers Gill.

Definitely. I think the old race disappeared because of access issues, what with it being on the Duke of Devonshire's estate.

Although presumably he and Sarah will only get married the first year.
