Just a quick note to say this race will be at 11am on Saturday outside the Craven Arms in Appletreewick, usual format pint just before the finish line

Nick, looking forward to it. Have you got a profile, or a GPS track, of the course? I've seen the map and been told it's the up and down route tomorrow.

Thanks to the ROs and all involved from Wharfedale. A very pleasant day out, even if I had a shocking run myself. The race met, I think, with unanimous approval from the Dark Peak members present. Next time I'd take a tent, though, to be able to take full advantage of the post-race facilities ...

Is it not normal to have to drink a pint of beer before crossing the finish line in Dark Peak races then,...and then drink a few more after you have?
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".

It was definitively established at the 2013 Dark Peak AGM that there is no such thing as 'usual' nor 'standard' DP practice, so 'normal' doesn't get a look in, I'm afraid.

Fantastic morning up at Appletreewick courtesy of Wharfedale Harriers and Nick Charlesworth. I’ve not been up Simon’s Seat for a good while and it was further (and tougher) than I remembered. The ice-creams at Barden Bridge on the way home were fab too. A brilliant, life affirming couple of hours or so in Wharfedale and great to catch-up with some old friends
